William Thomas - Joined Oklahoma army national guard 2/7/2002. In late 2003 William got orders for Afghanistan and was in Afghanistan (task force phoenix)until late sept of 2004. When New Orleans was hit in 2005 he was sent for relief/humanitarian aid efforts (task force New Orleans). In 2007 William was deployed to Iraq, where he was tasked with entrance control point (ECP) duty at camp cropper a prison COP inside the green zone. In 2011 he deployed back to Afghanistan where he was assign to forward operation base dand patan, where he would earn his combat infantry badge (CIB) . His unit in 2003 was award their combat thunderbird. This would be the first time since any thunderbirds would be awarded their combat thunderbird since the Korean War in 1951. He was assigned to A company 1/279th infantry battalion where he was company guide on bearer until Iraq . In 2012 he was transferred to B co 1/279th infantry where he would get E5 rank. William left the guard 02/07/2014.

Seth McKuin (Medically Retired) - Sergeant First Class  - U.S. Army. Seth has over 12 years experience with the 75th Ranger Regiment. He has 9 combat/counter terrorism deployments between Iraq and Afghanistan; 1 operational deployment in response to US contingency operations. Seth is a VFW life member, Yakama Warriors Association life member, and American Ligonier; as well as a member of the Scottish Club of Tulsa and Clan MacEwan Society. Seth enjoys small town USA and all the freedoms our service men and women provide. -- RLTW! <2>


Junior vice commander

James McIntire (Active)- Sergeant First Class - Army Infantry currently serving, enlisted 14 February 1998. James has three tours in Afghanistan, four Humanitarian Hurricane Relief missions Katrina, Rita, Harvey, Ida. Combat Infantryman Badge, Bronze Star, Purple Heart recipient, Saint Maurice Inductee, life member of the Combat Infantryman's Association. James is set to retire in 1 1/2 years and is looking to continue serving his community through the VFW.

Tony Dunbar (Retired) - PR1 AW USN, Tony served 20 years 1990-2010.

He also had numerous deployments around the world supporting the global war on terrorism. 

Tony now works full time at Lowe’s in Owasso and volunteers a lot of time to the VFW.

Brian Stumpf - served a total of 8 yrs, 4 1/2 active duty stationed in Hanau Germany with 130th engineers. Deployed to Bosnia Christmas Eve of 1995- Oct of 96 as part of IFOR. Stationed at Ft. Sill in 97 with B Co 62 ND Engineers. From 98-2001 was part of 245th Engineers Ok National Guard. 62E Heavy equipment operator

Larry Hill - USMC Vietnam Veteran. Larry has spent a lifetime of dedication to the Marine Corps and VFW. He continues to serve fellow veterans, his community and the VFW to this day.

Jennifer M.Smith - (Honorable July 2005- August 2009, OIF 15 mon. 06-07) - Specialist. Jennifer served with 3-2SBCT, 296 BSB, as a 92A10 (Automated logistical specialist). Down range she is acknowledged for having been a female searcher carrying a M249 alongside her male counter parts in the rural areas of Baghdad and the surrounding areas. Jennifer participated in the rebuilding of the Government center in Diyala providence Iraq. She also participated in humanitarian missions to the people of Iraq. Jennifer was a .50 Gunner for her NCOIC, and helped build, maintain, and crossed trained on-site as a prison guard for the Army's first mobile detainee holding annex (DHA). Jennifer is a single, full-time mom of 4 that escaped a Domestic Violence relationship of 17 years. She came to Oklahoma in March of 2022 and has since received some welding training, became a Human Rights Consultant, Completed Domestic Violence Classes for Survivors, and is active in therapy for herself and the children. Jennifer is a voice for many and has a following of people online and off, that have traveled the journey with her. Her hobbies include spending time with her kids, fishing, riding her Harley, music, and plain relaxing. They currently reside in the small town of Avant.

Phillip Johnson Jr.  – (Retired) US. Army born August 2, 1948 in Tulsa, OK. Phillip graduated from Central State College, now University of Central Oklahoma majoring in Funeral Service Education.  He was later drafted into the US Army in 1968, winning the lottery. Phillip served as an enlisted man and went to OCS at Ft. Benning, GA then completed helicopter flight school. He was stationed all over the world serving in command and staff roles. Phillip retired from the military in1993.  His family opened Oklahoma Monument  Co. in Collinsville in 1980 and Johnson  Funeral  Homein Sperry in 1990. Phillip has been a lifetime member of the VFW for many years and also is a member of the American Legion,  Retired Officers Association, and Army Aviation Association. “I fully support all our VFW missions in serving all Veterans . I am married to a Former Army Nurse,  we met in Korea and a post life member and we have 3 adult children who work with me in the funeral and monument business. . Trustee 2 year

Stan Wilber – Staff Sergeant United States Air Force (Retired). Stan volunteered to serve during the Vietnam War. Some of his awards include National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Expeditionary Medal, Air Force Medal, and a Presidential Unit Citation.


Trustee 3 year

Doug McClary – US Army – Doug served during the Cold War in Germany from 1954 to 1956 as a half track driver. He later became a Jeep driver for survey officers.
